Check Mate

We forgive you.
it's been awhile love
I might have felt sorry
now reading your obituary
I admit to nothing

a two-fold cord act
a last chance
a hidden muse
You start to dance

Thumb tack in your toe
still there
Conclusions open book
still there
you let the dice role

Friends agree
to ego rising
Too small a bandage
to stop the pining
And you wait

Birthing's cry slams the door
Left takes your hand
Right anchored in a grave
Sins weigh more to you
then God has forgave

And still you wait

Self destructive
Selfish seeking
abomination that resides
Left but to the hope
in a child's innocent eyes

One.
First held,gave still pure
gave to ruin, gave of love
Three.
Paints a heart, to make it pure
gave from ruin, gave to love

We have forgiven you.
Now own closure
We live paying the price
for those sins never paid

Poetry kinda takes the bite off of it doesn't it?
